Carmen currently works at a local agency providing individual therapy to
children, adults, and families. Carmen has been a part of the Columbia
community for the last six years. Carmen earned her Bachelor's of Social
Work in 2011 at Missouri Western State University and completed her
Master's of Social Work in 2013, at the University of Missouri. Carmen has
experience in a variety of positions in the mental health field. She has
worked with children struggling with behavioral, emotional, and mental
health issues in a residential facility for close to a year. Carmen has
also worked with victims of domestic violence and sexual assault for close
to two years providing individual and group therapy. Carmen is receiving
training in DBT currently. Carmen works from a strengths-based and
client-centered approach. Carmen is pursuing clinical supervision and
plans to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in October 2018. Carmen
enjoys spending time with family, reading, cooking, and watching movies.
