KELSEY ESSER, MSW, LCSW
Kelsey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor’s in Social Work in 2011 and her Master’s in Social Work in 2013, both from the University of Missouri. Kelsey has over seven years experience working in the mental health field. Kelsey began her social work career working in the child welfare system and inpatient psychiatric care. After obtaining her clinical license, Kelsey worked in a residential substance abuse treatment center and then an eating disorder treatment center. Kelsey has also worked as an adjunct professor for Columbia College. In addition to serving on DBT Vitality, Kelsey is also in private practice with Lawrence, Oliver and Associates.
Kelsey works with both adolescents and adults doing individual and group therapy. She has clinical interest and experience in the treatment eating disorders, substance abuse, trauma, self-harm and mood and anxiety disorders. She is trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Prolonged Exposure.
She sees clients in both Columbia and the greater Boonville area.
